Samsas Rund Sofa, 1966

Samsas Rund Sofa, 1966

Originally designed in 1966, the Samsas Rund Sofa is a unique example of Swedish designer Carl Malmsten's playful genius. Created late in his life, Samsas Rund reflected his lifelong dedication to creating timeless, refined seating. As part of the Samsas series, this sofa evolved from his earlier Konsert chair created for the Stockholm Concert Hall in 1923 and embodies his philosophy of thoughtful refinement and “slow ripening”.

We are proud to relaunch this special design in collaboration with O.H. Sjögren, a fourth-generation family-owned upholstery workshop in Tranås who have worked with the Malmsten family for more than 70 years.
