Lounge Chair, c1940s

A fine, classical armchair designed by architect Orla Molgaard-Nielsen and produced by Fritz Hansen Eft. in Allerød, Demark in the 1940s. In the 1930s - 1940s Fritz Hansen produced some of the best examples of traditionally upholstered armchairs in Denmark. They achieved great success by collaborating with young architects such as Orla Molgaard-Nielsen who had studied under Kaare Klint at the Royal Academy in Copenhagen.

This example has been refurbished and reupholstered in luxurious moss green cotton velvet by Rose Uniacke.
