Ole Wanscher
This rarely seen rocking chair by Professor Ole Wanscher was produced by France & Son in Denmark in the early 1960s. The immaculate rosewood frame is highly figured and the seat and back are newly upholstered in cognac brown aniline leather.
The Model 120 expanded on the earlier 119 lounge chair and 110 rocking chair. It was a highlight of Wanscher's long and fruitful collaboration with British industrialist Fearnley France's Danish factory. Although France & Son's primary focus was on highly-efficient industrial production, the quality of their joinery was amongst the finest in Denmark in the 1950s - 60s. Rosewood versions of their more popular chairs were produced in highly limited numbers.
