Model 71 Dining Chairs, 1951

Niels Moller's Model 71 dining chair was one of his earliest and most expressive works, designed in 1951 in the early days of operating his own factory: J.L. Moller Mobelfabrik in Odense, Denmark. The Model 71 and its companion armchair the Model 55 evolved from Moller's collaborative design work early in his career with architect Arne Hovmand-Olsen.

Rosewood editions are rarely seen and highly sought-after in today's market. This example has been reupholstered with new cognac leather. The back is moulded plywood with striking rosewood veneer.
