H.W. Klein
Norwegian Henry Walter Klein moved to Copenhagen to pursue his furniture design career in 1949 just as the movement which would become known as Danish Modern was emerging. During the War he was a sailor in the Norwegian navy and later joined the resistance movement. In Denmark he studied under Finn Juhl at the Royal Academy and the great man's influence is clear on Klein's early work, such as the sculptural Model 223 chair, which was produced by cabinetmaker N.A Jorgensen.
