Erik Worts

Armchair, 1956

Armchair, 1956

An elegant armchair with rosewood frame, original black leather seat and woven cane back, designed by Erik Worts in 1956 and produced by his father Henrik Worts' own workshop.

This design was presented alongside a complimentary dining chair and table when launched. The timber selection, joinery, quality of leather and the fine cane work exemplify the pure essence of the Cabinetmaker's Exhibitions and the higher standards they held themselves to. It featured heavily at Den Permanente's showroom at the copper-clad Vesterport building in central Copenhagen throughout the 1950s and 60s alongside the very best in Danish handcrafts.
