Borge Mogensen
An oak example of the Model A-232 Cabinet, designed by Borge Mogensen in 1951 for cabinetmaker Carl Marius Madsen based near Odense in Denmark. Madsen also worked with Mogensen's close friend Hans Wegner and was known for high-quality dining chairs and cabinets. Madsen's productions including the China Cabinet were distributed as part of the FDB Mobler group for whom Mogensen had held the position of design director through the 1940s.
The China cabinet drew influence from Chinese antiques with the use of solid brass T-Bar handles that double as keys. The interior is lined with maple wood veneer and solid maple shelves and trays. The cabinet is in superb condition with rich, warm patina.
