Ole Wanscher
The Colonial Chair (Model PJ-159) is one of Danish master Ole Wanscher's finest moments. This example is made from highly figured rosewood with woven rattan cane seat and was produced by Poul Jeppesen in Denmark. This is a first edition, produced between 1949-1952 with the rattan cane woven directly onto the rosewood frame. Later versions had a removable rattan seat that sits loose in the chair frame. The new feather cushions have been upholstered in off-white linen fabric.
