China Chair

Designed in 1944, the China Chair remains one of Wegner's most important works and the first of his significant chair designs to be produced. This stunning example was made in rosewood in the 1960s in highly limited quantities and comes with a beautiful tan brown Niger leather cushion.

Taking inspiration from Chinese Ming dynasty antiques, Wegner modified and purified elements of the original design expression to create something new and undeniably Danish. The China Chair is a high-point in Wegner's storied career and its production was a groundbreaking feat of expert craftsmanship by Fritz Hansen.
